Asian Seared Duck Breast

  • 2 Duck Breasts
  • 3/4 Cup Orange Juice
  • 1/3 Cup Garlic Chili Paste
  • 2 TBS Fresh Cilantro
  • 1 TSP Soy Sauce


  • 1 TSP Garlic
  • 1 TBS Fresh Ginger
  • 1/3 Cup Green Onions
  • 1/3 Cup Red Wine
  • 1/3 Cup Red Wine Vinegar
  • 1/3 Cup Soy Sauce
  • 4 Ounces Butter

Procdure:  Score breasts with a knife and place in a bowl.  Add in orange juice, chili paste, and cilantro and mix.  Let marinade in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.  After that time in a hot skillet add in soy sauce and sear duck breasts skin side down.  Flip over once skin is caramelized and cook to desired temperature.  Set breasts aside and in the same pan caramelize garlic, ginger, and scallions.  Add red wine, red wine vinegar, and soy sauce together and deglaze skillet with the liquid mixture.  Reduce in half and finish with whole butter.  Enjoy!
